After the fermentations, along with the pumpings over and pigeages, the runnings off and pressings were finished on the 23rd November. The malolactic fermentations are now taking place in the new cellar.

Last day of harvest at the Château. Captain of the Beychevelle ship for 21 years now, Philippe Blanc watches over the horizon and is guiding the crew for a new adventure on board in the new vat room.

All of smiles, Bastien and Samantha have joined the Beychevelle team for the harvest period. Bastien is an agrifood engineer and comes from Belgium, his homeland. Samantha has studied for her National Diploma of Oenology in Montpellier. They are both working of the daily pumpings over.

Romain is the son of a winegrower. He joined the Beychevelle crew as Technical Director in 2012. He sees winemaking as a challenge and our new vat room allows him to widen the field of possibilities with sur-mesure vinification. Gravity, pigeages, offloadings, pumpings over: he does not set himself any limits and stays attentive to the vineyard.

Andrew is the Englishman of the team and arrived 14 years ago. As a confirmed golfer, he has a sharp eye and the perfect swing to follow the trajectory of the berries on our green.

Reporter at Le Journal du Médoc, Patrick, strong carrier, knows how to use words witfully as much as he knows how to motivate our teams in the rows and bring his wise advice. Hyperactive retired man, he has joined our vines each year for the harvesting period for 16 years.

A dream team to feed our harvesters during this intensive period. Valérie, our official marathonian, and François our gardener, have been part of the Beychevelle team for respectively 11 and 37 years. They work hard on boosting the strength of our teams on every lunch.

Gaël and Cédric are getting used to the new vat room. As big sportsmen, respectively rugbyman and ex fireman, they work on the vinification of the new vintage. At the top, Cédric is doing a pigeage with our less tiring new tool and Gaël is checking the density and temperature of each vat thanks to chips linked to the control computer.

Born and raised on this soil, Julie arrived on the team in 2009. She is the lighthouse at the end of the row for her team who work keenly and joyfully under her observant Team Leader eye. The first sorting on the vine is crucial for the upcoming work on the vintage.
